Karima Davis is a wife mother of 3 beautiful daughters ages 18,4 and 1 month and is business owner of the planner and stationary item company Treasure You Inc.Shes originally from Lakewood, New Jersey raised in Atlanta, Georgia.A middle child of 6 siblings and raised primarily in a single parent home. Experiencing the negative effects as a victim of poverty,homelessness,domestic violence and witnessing drug and alcohol abuse produced her a passion for others to make a positive change and to not be a victim of their environment.
As a result of her passion for people she founded a non profit organization Building our sisters mentality Inc in August 2017 to Advocates the growth and development of women and young girls dealing with everyday life challenges. Her goal as the founder is to encourage women and young girls especially in low income areas to focus on self -awareness such as mental and physical health. Also Educating them on financial planning,Job readiness, Entreprenuership and career development as well prevention of teen and adult domestic violence.She hosts public speaking events to create a fun positive environment to plant positive seeds and coordinates outreach events to provide needed resource.
At the age of 15 years old Karima served as an altar counselor in youth ministry "Inline"at World Changers Church international. She has made countless efforts to be actively involved in her community and to give back to the city of Atlanta. She organized a local feed the homeless event feeding and providing personal hygiene products to over 100 homeless women and men at The Atlanta Tasked Force. She also was the assistant creative director of Hyundai Capital America "Treat the Cause event.” The Treat the Cause event supported PADV (Partners Against Domestic Violence) by baking and distributing free goods in exchange for financial contributions and needed items to donate to the organization. Karima volunteered for the Atlanta Cares Hurricane Relief Project where she assisted in preparing meals for over 1 million families impacted. Upon starting her nonprofit organization Karima hosted "A Look Beyond her Mask Brunch" charitable event on October 1st, 2017 to raise awareness for domestic violence, sex trafficking, sexual abuse and to encourage women to heal. 50 percent of the event proceeds where donated to the nonprofit organization Fly Life Inc. She continues to assist victims of rape, domestic violence, and abuse as they face everyday life challenges. She supports their mental, emotional and financial wellness by providing needed resources.
Building our sisters mentality was founded in 2017 is an organization the advocates the growth and development of women and young girls while dealing with everyday life challenges. We challenge women and young girls to view themselves in a positive mindset. To look beyond negative adversities in their communities and progress towards their life aspirations.
